Commercial Fast Action Is Required When Water Causes Significant Damage To A Historical San Francisco Property Our SERVPRO of Belmont / San Carlos rapid response team is available 24/7!

Protecting Flooring In Historical San Francisco Properties

San Francisco has a rich and illustrious history and remains committed to preserving some of these historic buildings and properties through intricate renovations and refurbishments to protect their beauty and function. Water loss incidents can adversely affect any property, but it can prove devastating to older construction. Our professionals can respond quickly in the event of a water loss emergency to provide effective mitigation tactics designed to reduce the spread of water and protect the property.

Hardwood flooring and intricate moldings are often hit the hardest by water damage in your San Francisco historical property. Touring individuals or even office spaces that have been tucked into the property now become affected by the need for immediate servicing by trained professionals able to remove water quickly while focusing specifically on preserving original materials. Our SERVPRO professionals have advanced equipment that can do this with the right response from the owner about the incident.

Hardwood flooring, as an example, requires fast attention from trained personnel. Our SERVPRO team can arrive quickly to set up air movers and dehumidifiers to begin removing moisture from this saturated material. The longer this dampness and moisture remain in the wood, the more likely it becomes that the material bloats and distorts. Once this swelling has occurred, there is no choice but to remove these materials and replace it with new construction.

Large drying mats play a significant role in drying out flooring materials in a water-damaged historical building because they can penetrate beyond the surface to the subflooring without pulling the moisture out too rapidly. A steady draw of the moisture until the area gets thoroughly dried prevents warping and protects the integrity of the material itself.

While you might guide tours through harrowed halls of former celebrities or musicians, or oversee the grounds of refurbished office space in a historical property, water damage can be devastating without a fast response from trained professionals. Our SERVPRO of Belmont / San Carlos rapid response team is available 24/7 at (650) 591-4137.

Avoid Failing to Disclose Important Details When Your San Francisco Bistro Faces Water Damage

12/15/2018 (Permalink)

Commercial Avoid Failing to Disclose Important Details When Your San Francisco Bistro Faces Water Damage Water can quickly damage and possibly close your restaurant if left unmitigated. Contact SERVPRO for remediation and restoration services.

Things to Tell SERVPRO When Calling Us for Water Removal from a Restaurant in San Francisco

Water removal from restaurants in San Francisco may be complicated by any number of factors, ranging from the placement of the building to its internal layout to where the water initially came from. Otherwise small differences between buildings on the same street can sometimes lead to drastically different water removal projects. SERVPRO technicians are experts at adapting to the situation and providing high-quality care no matter the challenges they face, but we could still face forced delays that may not be apparent from the initial call. Letting us know of any of these factors beforehand can help our initial mitigation response be more well-suited to your needs.

Size of the Building
Not only does the size of the floor space requiring water removal in a San Francisco restaurant matter, but so does the size of the building overall. Larger buildings are often constructed of different materials and have different regulations and building codes compared to smaller ones, so having prior knowledge of these conditions can alert us to potential dangers. If we ask about the size of the impacted area on the phone, be sure to mention a quick summary of the size and shape of the building, too.

High or Low Relative Elevation
If your restaurant sits at a lower elevation than one or more sides of the surrounding area, it may be especially prone to flooding and difficulty of water removal. Please make sure to let SERVPRO know if your establishment sits at the bottom or on the side of a hill.

Delicate Materials
Many restaurants in the area prize their decor and furnishings highly, but in a water damage incident, these objects can be easily damaged without appropriate countermeasures. We recommend immediately separating all cushions from furniture and removing rugs from carpeting and other flooring materials vulnerable to staining. Of course, you should take care not to put your safety at risk by doing this, and instead wait for SERVPRO to arrive with specially-made protective equipment if there is any question of safety. If this ends up happening, please let our technicians know of any particularly valuable objects in the area so that we can prioritize their removal.

SERVPRO of Belmont / San Carlos provides expert water removal and damage restoration services for homes and businesses across the community. Call our local office 24/7 at (650) 591-4137.

Use Tips Provided by SERVPRO to Prevent Water Damage at Your San Francisco Care Facility

Commercial Use Tips Provided by SERVPRO to Prevent Water Damage at Your San Francisco Care Facility Having a constant washing machine leak at your facility can lead to water damage over time. Call SERVPRO to remediate the damage.

Appliances Using Water can Cause Commercial Water Damage in Care Facilities in San Francisco

Providing care to residents in a care facility in San Francisco requires you to address all areas of daily life – meals, clothing, bedding, medicines, personal hygiene, and several others. Ensuring that your facility's employees meet all of the residents' daily needs requires the constant use of appliances.

If one of the machines sustains a leak in a feed or drain line in your facility, your building can suffer commercial water damage in San Francisco. With rotating shifts, important details about malfunctioning appliances can get lost, letting leaks grow in size. SERVPRO technicians are always ready to respond to such situations and get things back under control.

Although major leaks require a call to a certified plumber, we can repair minor ones. Cleaning up the area of water from floors happens quickly, and then we begin measuring the water vapor in the air and how much moisture entered absorbent materials. Often, we find secondary water damage during these inspections, and we hold IICRC-certifications in these areas, also.

Working in a residential setting mitigating water damage can create noise that disturbs some individuals. We want to assure you that we understand this and can work with you to minimize this as much as possible. We adjust our work to match your needs, especially when residents' rooms and the affected area are close to each other.

Some of our activities produce odors, such as fresh paint or cleaning chemicals. If these odors might impact a resident, we ask that you inform us as soon as possible. We want to provide mitigation services in a manner while refraining from causing any discomfort but we need your input on this if it is a possibility.

Either of these might require moving residents to other areas, but we leave this decision to you and your staff. Our goal is to make everything “Like it never even happened.” and in the shortest amount of time possible. To help prevent similar incidents in the future, we can check if any other appliances give off readings of elevated moisture. Some leaks are located internally instead of along a hose where you can easily view it.

SERVPRO of Belmont / San Carlos wants to help you provide the highest level of care to your residents, and mitigation of water damage gets your facility back to a healthy, safe condition. Call us at (650) 591-4137, and we can explain how we can help you achieve this.
